Music & New Baby News from Shannon & Heather Slaughter

heather-and-jed-slaughterOne of bluegrass music’s favorite couples, Shannon and Heather Slaughter, are proud to announce the birth of a new son, Jedediah (Jed) Smith Slaughter. Their new baby joined the family on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Birmingham, Ala, much to the delight of his older sister Rae.

Heather will be coming off the road to spend more time with the couple’s two children, however she will be a guest on the new Shannon Slaughter & County Clare album releasing later this year. Heather will be lending her exquisite harmony vocals, singing lead on another track, and joining Shannon on a highly anticipated Porter & Dolly duet. The band will begin recording in March at Eastwood Studios in Virginia.

Bluegrass Today calls Shannon Slaughter “a rare bluegrass triple threat: a gifted and disciplined songwriter, a robust and evocative singer, and a substantial guitarist, on both rhythm and lead,” so fans will no doubt be anxious to hear his 10 original songs on the 14 track album.
