Trinity River Band includes the talents of: Joshua Harris – Lead & Harmony Vocals, Banjo, Dobro; Brianna Harris – Lead & Harmony Vocals, Fiddle; Lisa Harris – Bass, Harmony Vocals; Mike Harris – Guitar, Lead & Harmony Vocals; and Sarah Harris – Lead & Harmony Vocals, Mandolin. As announced last week, Trinity River Band are candidates for nomination on the second of three ballots for the 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards. Official nominees will be announced in August.  Trinity River Band made an impressive appearance in the following categories: Vocal Group of the Year; Song of the Year for “How Blue” written by John Moffait; Album of the Year for their previous album Heartstrings, Orange Blossom Records; Gospel Recorded Event of the Year for “Give God the Power” written by Brink Brinkman; Emerging Artist of the Year; Recorded Event of the Year for “Fences” with special guest Marty Raybon written by Brink Brinkman and Dale Pyatt; and a Female Vocalist of the Year nod for Sarah Harris.

Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction to Debut New Single by Trinity River Band

Sirius XM Radio’s Bluegrass Junction will host the world premiere of “Come Back Train” by Trinity River Band on Thursday, May 19 during the 7am and 10am hour.  Host Kyle Cantrell will also talk to the band about the fast paced new single.  “Come Back Train, written Jerry Salley and Cassidy Lynn Alexander, is a great kick off to the band’s upcoming album, Things We Do For Dreams, releasing next month on Orange Blossom Records. Heartstrings, released last year, is still receiving airplay and includes five chart songs from their most successful album to date. The most recent chart hits include “How Blue” with lead vocals by Sarah Harris and “Rusty Old American Dream” with Joshua Harris taking the lead vocals.

Now Released! Lonesome River Band’s “Bridging the Tradition”

cover-art-lrb-2016-400Lonesome River Band will kick off today’s new album release, Bridging the Tradition (Mountain Home Music) with three special performances this weekend.

Tonight, March 18, the band continues the tradition of debuting their new albums at the world famous Station Inn in Nashville. On Saturday, March 19, Mountain Home Music Company will host a release celebration and concert at the Isis Restaurant & Music Hall in Asheville, N.C. On Sunday, March 20, Lonesome River Band will perform at The Barn at Chantilly Farm in Floyd, VA.

Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer and 5-Time IBMA Banjo Performer of the Year, Sammy Shelor leads the group that is constantly breaking new ground in Acoustic music. With two stellar lead vocalists, Brandon Rickman (guitar) and newest member Jesse Smathers (mandolin), accentuated by the impressive talents of Mike Hartgrove (fiddle) and Barry Reed (bass), the band seamlessly comes together, performing the trademark sound that fans continue to embrace.

Lonesome River Band had been established for nearly a decade when the band released its landmark album, Carrying the Tradition, in 1991. The critically acclaimed project ushered in a new era for Bluegrass by acknowledging tradition while introducing new elements that expanded the genre. Now, 25 years later, this award-winning band is again set to build on the familiar while adding bold progressiveness to its legend with this latest release, Bridging the Tradition.

“This album is different than anything we’ve ever done,” says multi-award winning banjo player, Sammy Shelor. “The songs are ones that we are really personally interested in doing. New Single Release by the Larry Stephenson Band

albumcover-larrystephenson-400wThe Larry Stephenson Band is proud to announce the title track, “Pull Your Savior In,” as their first single release from their upcoming new album releasing October 21, 2014 on Whysper Dream Music. The song was written by Larry Stephenson and will certainly have your toes tapping.

The band has also released a special featured track, “Amazing Grace” that features special guests Jimmy Fortune, David Parmley, and Dale Perry. Both songs are now available to radio stations at

“This is only our fifth all gospel CD, but gospel songs have always been a big part of our stage show. I hope you will enjoy the album as much as we did recording it,” said Stephenson.

Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce Michael Martin Murphey has a signed a multi-album recording contract with the label.  Due to the success of Murphey’s  Rural Rhythm albums, “Buckaroo Blue Grass” (released Feb 09) and “Cowboy Classics – Old West Cowboy Collection” (released June 2009), the label will release “BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS 2” on February 9, 2010.  The project will feature two singles that were released last week during the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) World of Bluegrass held in Nashville, Tennessee.

On Wednesday, September 30 during the IBMA convention, Rural Rhythm Records hosted a Private Showcase that included music industry VIPs who were treated to incredible performances and surprise announcements.  This special event included an extremely moving performance by Michael Martin Murphey and Bluegrass #1 hit artist, Carrie Hassler singing “Wildfire.”  Murphey and Hassler recorded the new version of this mega hit song just two weeks prior to the IBMA convention.  Last Thursday, Murphey appeared on WSM Radio with Bill Cody where the song was played during the show.  Due to the overwhelming listener response after “Wildfire’s” airplay on the show, and in anticipation of Murphey and Hassler performing the song October 17th at SMU vs. Navy game during the half-time show, the song will be available for digital download in the next few weeks.

Also during the VIP Showcase, Murphey performed another new single, Running Gun with bluegrass veteran, Audie Blaylock & Redline much to the delight of the audience.  The song will also be available on “BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS 2.”

“BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS 2” includes a host of other outstanding talent including: Sam Bush, Charlie Cushman, Troy Engle, Pat Flynn, Andy Hall, Rob Ickes, Andy Leftwich, Ryan Murphey, Craig Nelson,  and Matt Pierson.  The album was produced by Ryan Murphey and Engineered by Keith Compton.
