Now Released! Lonesome River Band’s “Bridging the Tradition”

Tonight, March 18, the band continues the tradition of debuting their new albums at the world famous Station Inn in Nashville. On Saturday, March 19, Mountain Home Music Company will host a release celebration and concert at the Isis Restaurant & Music Hall in Asheville, N.C. On Sunday, March 20, Lonesome River Band will perform at The Barn at Chantilly Farm in Floyd, VA.

Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer and 5-Time IBMA Banjo Performer of the Year, Sammy Shelor leads the group that is constantly breaking new ground in Acoustic music. With two stellar lead vocalists, Brandon Rickman (guitar) and newest member Jesse Smathers (mandolin), accentuated by the impressive talents of Mike Hartgrove (fiddle) and Barry Reed (bass), the band seamlessly comes together, performing the trademark sound that fans continue to embrace.

Lonesome River Band had been established for nearly a decade when the band released its landmark album, Carrying the Tradition, in 1991. The critically acclaimed project ushered in a new era for Bluegrass by acknowledging tradition while introducing new elements that expanded the genre. Now, 25 years later, this award-winning band is again set to build on the familiar while adding bold progressiveness to its legend with this latest release, Bridging the Tradition.

Orange Blossom Records Signs Circa Blue – New Music Video Released

circ blueOrange Blossom Records is proud to announce they have signed CIRCA BLUE to the label and will release the band’s new album, Once Upon A Time, in January.

To give fans a preview of the upcoming album, the band has released a new music video for the track, “Rain and Snow.” The video was filmed by Seven Bends Media on location in Virginia and West Virginia. It sets forth the torrid tale of love un-requited, and the compelling story is borne out through a combination of acting and the band’s musical arrangement.

Once Upon A Time features 10 songs that include several co-writes with Steve Harris and songwriters David Morris and Dawn Kenney, an Award-Winning song by Brink Brinkman, a Dawn Kenney original, a collaborative effort between Canadian Star Matt Naveau, David Morris and Steve Harris, public domain standards, and a Juice Newton cover thrown in for good measure. The title cut “Once Upon A Time” was written by Steve Harris and Malia Furtado.

Orange Blossom Records Announces Upcoming New Album by Trinity River Band

The album was recently recorded at National Media Services in Virginia with Executive Producer Mike Harris and Producers Will Shenk, Sarah Harris, and Joshua Harris. Trinity River Band members, Mike, Lisa, Sarah, Joshua and Brianna Harris are joined by special guests Marty Raybon on the song “Fences” written by Mark “Brink” Brinkman and Dale Pyatt, along with the talents of Mark Johnson on the song “Tell Me Darlin’ written by Anne and Pete Sibley.

Fans can expect the first single and title track “Heartstrings”to hit radio mid-April. The song, written by Mike Harris, is certainly highlighted by the tight family harmony featuring daughter, Sarah Harris on lead vocals. Sarah has received two consecutive nominations by the International Bluegrass Music Association for the Momentum Award in the Performance, Vocalist category.
