Five Chart Songs from Trinity River Band’s Heartstrings Album

Five impressive tracks have appeared on the Bluegrass Today Top 20 chart with the most recent “How Blue,” with lead vocals by two-time IBMA Momentum Vocalist Nominee Sarah Harris, and “Rusty Old American Dream” with sibling Joshua Harris singing the lead.

The Bluegrass Situation hosted the song premiere of the Reba cover “How Blue” back in May saying, “The band got groovy when recording ‘How Blue,’ anchored by the bluesy guitar stylings of Mike Harris. The sibling trio of Sarah, Joshua, and Brianna draw you in, but it’s the sassy lead vocals from Sarah which steal the show.”

How Blue” is currently appearing on the Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction Most Played Tracks chart, Bluegrass Today’s Weekly and Monthly Top 20 Songs charts and has spent the last five weeks in the top 5 on the Roots Music Report’s Top 50 Bluegrass Songs chart.

Rusty Old American Dream,’ written by David Wilcox, just made its debut on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Top 20. In a recent album review, Digital Rodeo calls the song “a rousing tune with classic bluegrass pickin’ and impeccable vocal harmony” with Bluegrass Today saying Joshua Harris “also provides some good lead singing” and “Mike’s guitar playing shines on this cut as well.”

They recently ran into country star Billy Dean and gave an impromptu performance of their version of his hit song “Only Here For A Little While” that also appears on Trinity River Band’s Heartstrings album. With numerous other album reviews, radio appearances such asNashville’s 650 AM WSM Radio, a podcast feature on The Bluegrass Byway, and more, the group has certainly broadened their reach and continues to grow their loyal fans base.

Mountain Fever Records Announces New Music from Volume Five, Voices, Available Jan. 20, 2015

album-cover-volume-five-voices400wMountain Fever Records announces the upcoming CD release of Voices from Volume Five, which will be available on Jan. 20, 2015.

Founded in early 2008 by vocalist and fiddle player Glen Harrell, Volume Five includes the talents of Harry Clark (Mandolin & Vocals), Chris Williamson (Bass & Vocals), Patton Wages (Banjo & Vocals,) and Colby Laney (Guitar & Vocals.) These five musicians together truly blend into a band with staying power. “When I put this group together, I knew the style of music I wanted us to play and the goals I wanted to achieve,” stated Harrell. “It was just a matter of finding the right guys who wanted to create their own identity in the industry. I didn’t just want us to be another band that moves onto the scene and is gone in a few years, but one that would have a unique sound that players and listeners would remember for many years to come – one that sounded like no other band in the business.”

Volume Five has had great success with their previous releases including their first, Down In a Cell and their second release,Children of the Mountains, which garnered the group their first #1 song, “Anywhere is Home Again.” With their third album, Run, they achieved significant Bluegrass Today chart success appearing almost every week of 2013. “Rich Man’s Daughter” was the first single from the album which went to #1 only three weeks after it was released. Several other songs from the album climbed as high as #2 and many weeks they have had as many as four songs from the album appearing on the chart at one time.

2014 also proved to be a stellar year for the band. On the heels of a their well-received southern-gospel CD release, The Day We Learn to Fly, the band earned two IBMA nominations for Emerging Artist of the Year and IBMA Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year for the album’s title cut.

Voices will be the band’s fifth album and features 12 tracks of carefully selected songs, showcasing the many facets of musical tastes that come from within the decidedly bluegrass ensemble—traditional, classic, and on-the-edge—this CD covers it all.

Carrie Hassler, Brand New Strings both kick off 2012 tour in York, PA January 14th

Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association has announced the first concert of 2012 with acclaimed vocalist CARRIE HASSLER along with award-winning bluegrass band, BRAND NEW STRINGS performing Saturday, January 14 at 7:00 pm.  The event will be held at the Goodwill Fire Company in York, PA, located at 2318 S. Queen Street in the Spry area. The doors open at 5:30 pm. The kitchen will be open and operated by the Goodwill Volunteer fire fighters and Auxiliary members. This is a family, smoke free and no alcohol event. The cost is $13.00 for SMBA members and $16.00 for non-members. CARRIE HASSLER is gearing up for her new album on Rural Rhythm Records set for release in 2012.  Her two previous albums on the label were extremely well received by press, radio and fans alike.  She topped the album charts with both projects along with a string of #1 hit singles appearing on a variety of charts including: SiriusXM Radio’s Bluegrass Junction Top 40, Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine, Bluegrass Music Profiles Magazine, and many more.  She even reached as high as #1 on the European radio charts with the hit “Country Strong.”
