Three Chart Hits from Shannon Slaughter’s Album Never Standing Still

Shannon Slaughter’s “You Can’t Outrun The River,” written by Shannon Slaughter, Ronnie Bowman, Tim Stafford, made its debut on the Bluegrass Today Top 20 Song Chart today. This is the third track from Slaughter’s album Never Standing Still to receive chart success on the Bluegrass Today charts.

The first single release, “That Old County Road,” reached #1 in October on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Top 20, appeared numerous months on the Bluegrass Today Monthly Top 20,  and was included in Bluegrass Today’s Top 30 Songs of 2017 even after the album’s late 2017 release.

The third chart hit, “He Moved A Mountain” was written by Shannon Slaughter and Dale Felts.” The song was honored with the #1 spot on the very first Bluegrass Today Gospel Chart that was launched last month.

Not only has Slaughter received recognition on the Bluegrass Today charts, but numerous tracks have crossed genres on AirPlayDirect’s charts.  Never Standing Still was #1 on AirPlay Direct’s (APD) Top 50 BLUEGRASS/FOLK ALBUMS; #1 for “Better Move It On Home” and #2 for “Trying to Be My Own Man” on the APD Top 50 COUNTRY SONGS; #15 for “Going Home” and #16 for “Dying to Live Again” on the APD Top 50 AMERICANA SONGS; #38 for “That Old County Road” and #46 for “Movin’ On” on the APD Top 50 BLUEGRASS/FOLK SONGS charts in October.

Four Music Veterans Announce Launch of New Record Label – Union House Records

Union_House_logoMike Bentley, Jeff Brown, Shannon Slaughter, and Dale Felts are proud to announce the formation of a new record label, Union House Records focusing on bluegrass and acoustic music releases. The label will kick off with a soon to be released new single by Mike Bentley & Cumberland Gap Connection with the full album hitting stores later this year followed by a new album by Jeff Brown and Still Lonesome.

“Forming a label is a huge task, but I feel it’s the right thing for me at this point in my career. Being with a group of guys that have the same vision is both comforting and exciting. My hope for the future of Union House Records is to be a label that can bring this great music to folks for years to come,” said Brown.

Shannon Slaughter is already celebrating a successful album release. Shannon and Heather Slaughter Kick Off New Album Jan 24 in Nashville

They will be joined by special guests Randy Kohrs, Melonie Cannon, Aubrey Haynie, Ron Inscore, Trevor Watson, Cliff Bailey, and more.

The band will perform more songs from Never Just A Song including the title track written by Tim Stafford and Pam Tillis.  Shannon and Heather take turn on lead vocals, perform beautiful duets and also contribute their songwriting talents to the album. Shannon Slaughter Announces New County Clare Band Members

Shannon Slaughter is proud to announce new band members and updates for the bluegrass band COUNTY CLARE. Shannon and his wife Heather recently welcomed the addition of a new baby girl to their family. “While Heather will be scaling back some on performing with COUNTY CLARE and enjoying time with our new little girl, she will still be a part of the band. We are extremely dedicated to being the best parents we can be with Rae. We want her raised around family, friends, and the bluegrass music community because we believe they are the best fans in the world,” says Shannon.

New members Jesse Daniel (Mandolin, Dobro and Vocals), Casey Foster (Banjo, Guitar), Cliff Bailey (Bass/Vocals), and Stephen Burwell (fiddle) will join Shannon and Heather in the studio this summer to record a new album. Shannon said, “We are really excited about these new musicians and people and believe County Clare will have even greater success in 2014.”

“If I Were A Carpenter” Second Single Release from Shannon and Heather Slaughter

They perform an outstanding bluegrass version of this Top 40 hit song written by Tim Hardin who sang it solo at Woodstock in 1969. This American Folk classic has been covered by the likes of Bob Seger, Bobby Darrin, Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash, The Four Tops, Robert Plant and Rod Stewart.

“Bluegrass fans that aren’t familiar with Heather’s soulful vocals are in for a real treat. She and Shannon are both top-flight vocalists, and they make a truly delightful duet in every way.
