Pinecastle Records has just released the first single, “Other Woman’s Blues” from the upcoming album, THE BLU DISC by Nu-Blu. The band is offering a free download of the song via their website at Nu-Blu.com “Other Woman’s Blues” was written by Kira Small and provides a unique twist on Dolly Parton’s hit song “Jolene.” The lyrics begin with “Dear Dolly, it’s me Jolene” and takes off from there with outstanding lead vocals by Nu-Blu member Carolyn Routh who is joined by Christy Reid (Lou Reid and Carolina) providing her beautiful harmony vocals. Nu-Blu celebrated significant chart success for their self-released debut album, NIGHTS last year. The album received chart success on the Americana Music Charts, Euro Americana Chart, and Roots Music Bluegrass Report Top 50 Album chart, and named in WNCW Radio’s Top 50 Bluegrass Albums of 2010. Pinecastle Records released a single, “Christmas in Dixie” last November which was also a hit with radio stations as well.
