The Bill Monroe Memorial Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival, winner of the 2013 International Bluegrass Music Association’s IBMA Bluegrass Event of the Year Award, will hold their 48th annual festival June 12-21, 2014. This world famous event, known as the longest continuous running bluegrass festival in the world, will take place at the Bill Monroe Memorial Bluegrass Music Park & Campground in Bean Blossom (Brown County), Indiana.

The 10-day festival includes a stellar line-up of the top names in bluegrass music. During the festival, over 75 bluegrass bands will take the stage along with the participants of the Youth Bluegrass Boot Camp. Carrie Hassler, Brand New Strings both kick off 2012 tour in York, PA January 14th

Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association has announced the first concert of 2012 with acclaimed vocalist CARRIE HASSLER along with award-winning bluegrass band, BRAND NEW STRINGS performing Saturday, January 14 at 7:00 pm.  The event will be held at the Goodwill Fire Company in York, PA, located at 2318 S. Queen Street in the Spry area. The doors open at 5:30 pm. The kitchen will be open and operated by the Goodwill Volunteer fire fighters and Auxiliary members. This is a family, smoke free and no alcohol event. The cost is $13.00 for SMBA members and $16.00 for non-members. CARRIE HASSLER is gearing up for her new album on Rural Rhythm Records set for release in 2012.  Her two previous albums on the label were extremely well received by press, radio and fans alike.  She topped the album charts with both projects along with a string of #1 hit singles appearing on a variety of charts including: SiriusXM Radio’s Bluegrass Junction Top 40, Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine, Bluegrass Music Profiles Magazine, and many more.  She even reached as high as #1 on the European radio charts with the hit “Country Strong.”

Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the upcoming SINGLE release of “If Your Heart Should Ever Roll This Way Again” by the award-winning bluegrass band, Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out.  The song will be available to all radio stations March 17, 2011 via Airplay Direct and also serviced via the label’s Fresh Cuts and Key Tracks radio CD.  Radio Host, Kyle Cantrell has announced he will debut the song on his Sirius XM radio show, “Bluegrass Junction” that day as well.

“If Your Heart Should Ever Roll This Way Again” was written by Austin Cunningham and Mark Irwin and previously recorded by Cajun artist, Jo-El Sonnier.  The song was suggested to the band by Steve Dilling’s dad, Don Dilling.  This is the first single release from the group’s upcoming album, their second for Rural Rhythm Records, scheduled for release later this year.

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out’s upcoming album will also include at least six new songs, several classic songs, plus an instrumental the band has been performing at their live shows titled, Carroll County Blues.  Fans will certainly notice familiar songwriters the band has used in the past including: David Norris (The Best Durn Ride, A Song and a Prayer), Bill Castle (The Dream, I Will See You On the Other Side of Jordan, Just Over the Tide, Prayer For Peace), Billy Smith (Grandpa’s Mandolin, He’ll Take You In, Snow Angel) and Ronnie Bowman (Me and Dad, Bobbie and Millie, I’m Better Off Without You).

includes over two dozen songs by Christian songwriter, Rick Lang.  The album features performances by a variety of top, well-known award-winning bluegrass artists including: Russell Moore, Dale Ann Bradley, Jeff Parker, Junior Sisk, and Barry Scott; with musicians, Michael Cleveland, Ron Stewart, John Miller, Jesse Brock and more. “On behalf of all who played a part in the making of LOOK TO THE LIGHT, I am deeply honored. SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN TO ME, by Lou Reid and Carolina is the first bluegrass gospel album by the band.   Lou was thrilled to hear the news today saying, “Now this really Sounds Like Heaven To Me! After waiting almost my whole lifetime to record a gospel album and then hearing it received a Dove Award nomination, well, it just doesn’t get any better than that!”

Lou of course provides his trademark lead vocals and mandolin talents and is joined by Christy Reid on bass and vocals, Shannon Slaughter on guitar and vocals, Trevor Watson on banjo, with special guest. Ron Stewart on fiddle.  The album also includes the beautiful a capella song, “It’s So Hard to Stumble (When You’re Down on Your Knees)” co-written by Lou Reid. This song garnered a nomination for the 2009 IBMA Gospel Song of the Year Award, and was nominated for the 2010 GMA Dove Award for Bluegrass Gospel Song of the Year.  Lou Reid and Carolina fans received a preview of the group’s bluegrass gospel roots as “It’s So Hard to Stumble” was also featured on the band’s current award winning mainstream bluegrass album, MY OWN SET OF RULES.

“The All-Star Jam – Live at Grave Mountain” CD Released (Part I, video)

Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the new album release – “THE ALL-STAR JAM – LIVE AT GRAVES MOUNTAIN.” This special project was recorded June 4, 2010 at the 18th Annual Graves Mountain Festival of Music in Syria, Virginia and showcases an All-Star ensemble featuring one-of-a-kind performances never before heard live or in the studio.

The day was filled with an incredible line-up of talent including: Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Lonesome River Band, Lou Reid & Carolina, Carrie Hassler, Audie Blaylock and Redline, and The Crowe Brothers; along with a few special guests: Carl Jackson, Mark Newton, Brand New Strings, and marvelously emceed by popular Sirius-XM radio personality Kyle Cantrell. The International Bluegrass Music Association held it’s annual Awards Show last Thursday at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN and one of Atlanta’s favorite talents, Russell Moore, was awarded the coveted IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year honor.  This is Moore’s third win in this category.  His band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out also received impressive attention by being the second most nominated artist this year receiving nominations in 5 additional categories including:  ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR; VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR (previous 7 time winner in this category); ALBUM OF THE YEAR (“Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out”); SINGLE OF THE YEAR (“Hard Rock Mountain Prison (‘Til I Die)”; and GOSPEL RECORDED PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR (“The Eastern Gate”)

The album, “RUSSELL MOORE & IIIRD TYME OUT” was released last year on L.A. based Rural Rhythm Records and has appeared on the Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Bluegrass Chart (retail sales).  The album and singles have been radio chart hits as well including the single, “Hard Rock Prison (‘Til I Die)” reaching the #1 numerous times on various radio charts.

Success for Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out was nearly an overnight occurrence for this group after its forming in 1991. Led by Moore (guitar), IIIrd Tyme Out includes the talents of Steve Dilling (banjo), Justen Haynes (fiddle), Wayne Benson (mandolin), and Edgar Loudermilk (bass).  All in all, the band has garnered over 50 industry awards since their inception in 1991. Their a cappella renditions of many songs, featuring one of the most respected lead vocalists of all time, can rarely be matched and their superb instrumentation, from some of the top musicians in acoustic music, provides even more quality sound to their rich vocal blend.
