Sarah Harris Receives Nomination for IBMA Momentum Award – Vocalist

Sarah closeupSarah Harris, lead vocalist for Trinity River Band, has received an International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Momentum Award Nomination in the Performance, Vocalist category. Nominees were announced today through the bluegrass organization’s social media sites. The winners of the 2014 Momentum Awards will be presented with their awards at a luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 1 in Raleigh, North Carolina, as part of IBMA’s World of Bluegrass event, September 30-October 4.

Sarah’s impeccable vocals and charming personality have certainly gained her well-deserved attention in the bluegrass community. She can be heard on the band’s current album, BETTER THAN BLUE, where she also contributed her songwriting talents, penning “My Heart Will Find Its Way to You” and “Pure Poison.”

Trinity River Band is now on tour including their upcoming September 22 headlining performance at Willie’s Duck Jam 2014 with The Reactors and a special appearance by Willie Robertson. On September 25, they will perform at the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival before heading to the IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh. More on the IBMA Momentum Awards

The Momentum Awards were instituted in 2012 to recognize both musicians and bluegrass industry professionals who, while in the early stages of their careers, have contributed to, or had an influence on, bluegrass music. These contributions can be to bluegrass music in general, or done in a specific part of the industry.

“One of the distinctive features of the bluegrass world is that the peak years of careers are often measured in decades, even as we welcome an abundance of new artists and industry professionals into the ranks,” said Jon Weisberger, IBMA Board chair. “So as our top artists and professionals continue to enjoy recognition from their peers through its annual awards, the IBMA’s Board of Directors saw a need to salute some of the best and brightest among those who are closer to the beginnings of their careers, and created the Momentum Awards–noteworthy for including not just singers, pickers and bands, but events or venues and professionals–as a vehicle for drawing attention to their achievements.”

Music Event to Be Held at Willie’s Duck Diner in West Monroe, LA

Trinity River Band will headline the first Willie’s Duck Jam 2014 on September 22. This special outdoor concert kicks off at 6:30pm at Willie’s Duck Diner, located at 125 Constitution Dr., West Monroe, LA. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the gate. The event is being produced by Bucky Newell who is partners with Willie Robertson in Willie’s Duck Diner. Bucky’s 50’s-70’s rock band, the Reactors, will open the concert. Willie Robertson, Executive Producer of Duck Dynasty, will be joining both bands on stage during this highly anticipated live concert event.

Trinity River Band Heads to Missouri to Celebrate New Album

Trinity River Band will kick off the Missouri leg of their busy 2014 tour this Wednesday, May 14 at 3:00 pm on the popular K Kountry95 Radio’s “Redbone Show” (KAMS 95.1) reaching a large audience in the areas of Thayer, MO, Mammoth Springs, AR, plus streaming online for listeners worldwide.

On Friday, May 16, the band will perform a concert at the Winona Assembly of God in Winona, MO at 7:00 pm; Saturday-Sunday, May 17-18 at the Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival at the Iron County Courthouse Square on Main Street in Ironton, MO; and Sunday, May 18 at the First Baptist Church of Ellington, MO. Female Vocalist Sarah Harris Receives 2013 IBMA Momentum Performance/Vocalist Award Nomination

Many prominent figures in the music industry are calling her one of the breakout new female vocalists including award-winning songwriter Larry Cordle who said, “Miss Sarah Harris is a fantastically gifted and emotional singer. I look for great things from this band.”

John Pennell who has penned such hits as “Every Time You Say Goodbye,” “Too Late To Cry,” “Foolish Heart,” and other Alison Krauss song agreed saying, “In Sarah Harris, they may have one of the most outstanding lead vocalists to appear on the bluegrass, gospel, country scene in quite some time. And she’s no slouch on the mandolin either.”
