he Goodwin Brothers Release Music Video
“Everyday Thing”

Single Debuts at #2 on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana Chart

Nashville, TN. (April 28, 2023) – The Goodwin Brothers have released a music video today for their new Pinecastle Records single, “Everyday Thing.” In addition, the song debuted today at #2 on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana Chart.

The video was filmed in Preston, Kentucky, by Matthew Hyatt and directed by Jonathan Goodwin.

The filming took place at a store that’s close to the heart of Jonathan and William Goodwin. Jonathan explained, “When Will and I were teenagers, we spent a lot of time in this store. We lived only about a mile away during our teenage years.”

“The Store” (as it’s called now) opened in 1927 and is famous for its “Preston Steak Sandwich,” which is really two slices of white bread and Kahn’s bologna. Another interesting fact is that Hee Haw cast member Roni Stoneman got married on The Store’s front porch in 1987 with over 2,000 people in attendance. The Store’s former owner, Rube (and wife Helen) Blevins, was a Kentucky champion horseshoe pitcher in 1981 and 1982. The current owner, Mike (and wife Renee) Cassidy, is a world- champion square dancer.

Jonathan further mentioned, “There are a lot of hidden treasures throughout the video. For example, banjoist, Jr. Williams is sharpening my grandpa’s knife. Jeremy (the lead actor) pulls out a wallet that belonged to our grandfather. He and Kisha (the female actress) are carrying an old egg basket that was used on our family farm growing up. Also, if you look closely at the counter before the couple pays for their items you can see pictures including those of our grandparents, the house that Will and I lived in during our early childhood, and a picture of our maternal great-grandparents.”

The lead actor is played by Jeremy Toler who you may know from touring with the Brothers as their percussionist for over a year now. The lead actress is a friend of the Goodwin’s and viral internet sensation Kisha Royse of Kisha’s Hidden Coverage

Supporting roles were Elmer Burchett playing a car salesman early in the video, Mike Anglin, serving up a sandwich as the deli worker, and of course, the brother’s dad, David ‘Goose’ Goodwin, whom people from across the country have come to know and love, plays the cashier.

The Goodwin Brothers offer special thanks to Randy Warner for letting them use his 1967 Mustang and to Mike and Renee Cassidy at “The Store” in Preston, KY.

The Goodwin Brothers have achieved tremendous success recently, including performing at the Grand Ole Opry House and winning the Josie Music Award for Bluegrass Group of the Year. Also, they were recently awarded locally with several Lexi Music Awards this year, including the Bluegrass Artist of the Year Award & Critics Choice Award.  Jonathan Goodwin was also awarded “Guitar Player of the Year,” presented by bluegrass great Josh Williams at this year’s APPY Awards in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

You can hear the new single this Sunday night, April 30, on WSM 650 am or online, the most famed country music station in the world and the home of the Grand Ole Opry. Jonathan will be featured talking about the new single with 4-time IBMA Broadcaster of the Year award-winner, Terry Herd, on his program “Into the Blue.”

The song “Everyday Thing” was penned by Tom Paden and Dwight Liles.
