Moundsville, WV (March 1, 2024) – Crandall Creek is known for telling stories of life, love, and faith through their original music. Ain’t Love Somethin’, the band’s new album released today, continues those themes with an exceptional blend of tunes, each written by one or more Crandall Creek band members.

Carly Greer, who co-wrote four songs on Ain’t Love Somethin’, provides her stunning vocals on eleven tracks, including the impressive new single “Pieces” and “Fast Train” that kicks off the album. Band leader, guitarist, and extraordinarily talented songwriter Jerry Andrews wrote or co-wrote every song on Ain’t Love Somethin’ and takes a rare turn on lead vocals on “Fried Green Tomatoes.”

Crandall Creek respects the best traditions of bluegrass in their songs and vocal harmonies that reflect their Appalachian roots. Those are certainly on display on tunes such as “Hickory Ridge,” “Johnny Miller’s Farm,” “Aint’ Love Somethin,’ and especially on “Little White Church” with the distinctive lead vocals of Kathy Wigman Lesnock, who is also an extremely talented songwriter, co-writing eight of the songs on the album.

Another song of faith includes today’s new bluegrass gospel radio release, “Don’t Cry Mary.” Jerry Andrews explains, “The song, ‘Don’t Cry Mary,’ came to me from a sermon I listened to in church one Sunday. As I listened to what was being said, the whole story unfolded in front of me, like a movie playing in my head. Emotions overtook me, thinking of how Mary must have felt watching her Son being crucified. When I returned home from church, I sat down with my guitar, and 30 minutes later, the song was complete. I cried a lot while writing this one.”

Other tracks include Crandall Creek’s previously released singles, like the beautiful “Just 18,” also released as a music video. It was filmed by Bruce Winges, the band’s Regional Publicist and Photographer, and edited by Hope River Entertainment. The video was an immediate hit on Facebook, garnering hundreds of thousands of organic views.

The lively and fun “Love the Thrill” takes us back to our childhoods riding bikes in the summertime with our friends and demonstrates the uniqueness of the band’s original material. “Refrigerator Homemade Picture Show,” which Tim Raybon calls “fantastic,” includes guest Shannon Slaughter on lead vocals. All three tracks achieved chart success on the Bluegrass Today Top 20 Song Chart over the past year. Due to fan requests, two singles (“Get Out of Bed” and “Molly Burns”) from previous Crandall Creek albums were re-recorded with Carly Greer on lead vocals.

Ain’t Love Somethin’ includes the talents of Carly Greer on lead vocals, Kathy Wigman Lesnock on lead and harmony vocals, Jerry Andrews on guitar and lead & harmony vocals, Dustin Terpenning on banjo, Sav Nelson on bass, with guests Andy Leftwich on guitar, mandolin & fiddle, Jamie Peck on bass, Darrin Vincent on bass, Jessie Baker on banjo, and Josh Swift on Dobro.

Aint’ Love Somethin’ is a 13-track album in CD format with the addition of a bonus track, “Christmastime,” on the digital album. This must-have project was produced by Jamie Peck Productions and released on Copper Mountain Records. It is now available for streaming and purchasing at all major outlets and at crandallcreek.com in digital and CD formats.

Radio programmers can download the album at AirPlay Direct or by request from Hope River Entertainment for digital and CD formats.
