Grammy award-winning artist Larry Cordle, the founder of Mighty Cord Records, has announced the signing of Green River Revue and has released a new single, “Green River Ferryboat,” written by Kelsey Crews. The band’s album Opening Remarks had a limited release earlier in 2024 but will be re-released nationally with two new additional tracks.
“I’ve been considering expanding Mighty Cord Records for a good while now. In Green River Revue, I feel like I have found the perfect group to do that with. Put simply they have a sound that is all their own. It’s edgy but meaty. They sound like a band that has been together much longer than three years. Led by Kelsey Crews (banjo, guitar, lead and tenor vocals) and David Mansfield III (fiddle, guitar, lead and harmony vocals) this band, led by the twenty somethings, is already a powerhouse. I am just blown away by their creativity and again, their sound, which is absolutely all their own. Bassist Landy Ewing is the most seasoned of the group and is credited with producing this album. His credentials are very impressive. David Freeman is an incredible mandolinist and a fine singer. James Seliga, a wonderfully creative guitar player, rounds out the group and sings as well.”
