Nashville, Tenn. (February 28, 2025) – Turnberry Records proudly announces the release of Pride of Appalachia, the highly anticipated album from Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run. A heartfelt tribute to the resilience, culture, and spirit of Appalachian life, this album delivers a powerful blend of storytelling, tradition, and top-tier musicianship.

“This is my DNA laid out in song; it has always been my desire to reflect on the life of ordinary folk—the true Pride of Appalachia,” says Bailey, who continues to gain recognition as one of bluegrass music’s most promising songwriters. Recently dubbed the “Virginia Storyteller,” Bailey has crafted six of the album’s ten tracks, including the evocative title track “Pride of Appalachia,” as well as “Minneapolis-Moline,” “Jollett Brown,” and “The Corner of 12th & Clay.”

Among the album’s highlights, Bailey teamed up with bluegrass great Tim Stafford to co-write “The Story Silence Never Told,” which earned a coveted performance spot at the 2023 IBMA Songwriter Showcase. He also collaborated with Brandon Kyle on “There’s No Wind in the Eye of the Storm.”

Two previously released singles, “Hard Working Country Preacher Man” (Mark “Brink” Brinkman, Terry Foust, Mike Evans) and “That’s Alright” (David Stewart), have already topped multiple bluegrass radio charts. Other standout tracks include “Kentucky Boy” (Gary Ferguson, Paul Craft) and “Half Past You” (David Morris), all of which contribute to the album’s rich tapestry of Appalachian life.

A Musical Tribute to Appalachian Heritage

Deeply connected to his roots, Bailey draws inspiration from the people and stories of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where his ancestors were displaced to make way for Skyline Drive. Through themes of love, farming, faith, and hardshipPride of Appalachia pays homage to the resilience and grit that define the region.

Bringing these stories to life is a stellar lineup of musicians:

  • Caleb Bailey – Lead vocals, guitar
  • Brandon Kyle – Bass
  • Chandler Beavers – Mandolin
  • Chad Darou – Dobro, baritone vocals
  • Rob Slusser – Banjo
  • Merl Johnson – Fiddle
  • Ron Stewart – Fiddle (Tracks 3 & 10), Banjo (Track 3)
  • Wyatt Wood – Guitar, tenor vocal

Produced by Caleb Bailey, mixed and mastered by Ron Stewart, and recorded at Caleb Cox Homestead Studio in Maryland, the album captures the authentic, soul-stirring essence of Appalachian bluegrass.

Bailey’s talents extend beyond singing, songwriting, playing guitar, and leading a band. He recently announced the formation of a brand new bluegrass festival he is producing called NoBull…Just Bluegrass Festival. It will be held on July 4-5, 2025, at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, Virginia, hosted by Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run. It will feature performances by Lonesome River Band, Junior Sisk, Nothin’ Fancy, and many more.
